So technically part 4 was not really a “hands-on”, but I’ll keep the title still to not confuse whoever is reading the blog. This post, though, is actually about mounting the windscreen.
The installation of the new windscreen took me around one hour, but I’ve been a bit slow and that can probably be done in 30 minutes. What took time was mostly:
- removing the rubber bearings – as a side note, I had changed the position of the windshield after noticing there 2 possible positions and noticed already an improvement in the air flow, so I’d advise this first step to whomever thinks about upgrading their windscreen on the NC700/750
- understanding that the little aluminium brackets had to be placed BEHIND the support AND flat face UP – RTFM, Phil!
- figuring out the orientation of the side deflectors (mostly behind the turn signals, which looks a bit weird until you mount the windscreen itself
Result is looking very good, and I suppose I’ll have to play with the inclination angle of the windscreen until I figure the best one for my size. Also, I realized the 20″ windscreen may have been a better choice since my 22″ one is really at the lowest position and moving it up won’t be an option I’m afraid; still it works for me, but for anyone shorter than 1m87/6’2″ I would advise to opt for the 20″ instead – or less if you’re really short 🙂
