Day 236: Nicaragua to Costa Rica

We met up with our friends, Tim and Marisa, on Friday for another border crossing day. It was time to bid farewell to the heat of Nicaragua and journey to the cooler weather of the lush mountainous regions of Costa Rica. Beaches are nice enough, but the accompanying temperatures are not so comfortable. Time for some cool mountain air!

The border crossing turned out to be one of the easiest and painless ones we have had in a while. It took us about an hour and 30 minutes altogether to get through and be on our way to our stop for the night in Liberia, a small town an hour away from the border.

The rest of our day was uneventful and if you would like to read the details of the crossing, head on over to our Border Crossings page.
